The Brass Ring Awards online competition is designed to motivate and reward students for excellence in art and design. This year marks the 25th year for the Brass Ring Awards.

How to Enter: Visit http://www.brassringawards.com and enter using uploaded jpegs, pdfs, or movs. You can even enter jpegs uploaded to Facebook (make sure the FB allows guest viewing).
Prizes: “Best of Show”, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Merit awards in each category are based on the judges’ scoring. All winners will be shown online. “Best of Show” winners will receive an acrylic trophy and cash prize (based on the total number of entries).
Price:
$5.00 = High School per entry
$9.00 = College per entry

* There is no limit on entries! We accept credit card payments through PayPal (you do not need to have a Paypal account to pay).
Groups: We will accept checks from High Schools and Universities entering student work of 25 or more.
Eligibility: All college and university undergraduates and high school students.

Position Title: Design Intern
Description: Accepted Design interns are smartphone users that are excited by gadgets, mobile content, participate in social networks such as Facebook and Twitter and use mobile apps. Design Interns must work a minimum of 15 hours (unpaid) weekly, but are welcome to work more if they choose to do so. Office hours will be completed in the Blue Calypso headquarters located in Carrollton, TX between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Our Design Interns will work on coordinated design projects that vary in size and personality and will highlight the individual’s talents. They will also have the opportunity to advance their skills and push their creative impact.
Desired Qualifications:
• Must be proficient in CS3 or higher, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
• Must have knowledge of HTML (HTML 5 a plus), Flash and video editing (Final Cut preferred)
• Must own a smartphone
• Must own a laptop
• Must participate in Facebook and Twitter
• Must be creative and innovative
• Must possess great attention to detail
• Must be a quick learner
• Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to provide written reports as needed.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
• Creating graphics for digital advertising, decks and presentations
• Submitting new design concepts
• Collaborating with department heads on art and photo concepts, and on overall design
• Coordinate photo needs and procure stock photography
• Color correct images as needed
• Participate in critiques and be accountable for follow through on decisions made in critiques.
• Other responsibilities as required or assigned
• Learn the ability to manage and meet deadlines
